Charlotte & Tommy

Charlotte and Tommy attended college together, however their paths didn’t cross until after graduation while both living and working in Chicago. In October of 2017, Charlotte’s friend convinced her to stop by a Halloween party at Tommy’s apartment, where he was conveniently dressed as Superman. They immediately hit it off over their shared love of a neighborhood ice cream shop. Exactly 6 years to the day, they celebrated their wedding, surrounded by our closest family and friends.

Tommy proposed on a beautiful trip to Maui. He told Charlotte he had made dinner reservations, even going so far as to send himself a fake confirmation email that suggested parking in an off-site lot and walking to the restaurant via the Kapalua Coastal Trail. She was completely oblivious - somehow he knew she’d take the bait, no questions asked. It was on this walk that he proposed during sunset on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

In classic New Orleans fashion, their big day was focused on creating a fun, unique experience for their guests. They embraced the spirit by incorporating local music and cuisine throughout the weekend, while honoring the history and culture of the Big Easy. During the planning process, they opted for non-traditional touches that felt most authentic to them… A cocktail-style reception vs a sit-down dinner, hand-passed beignets in lieu of a wedding cake, and walking down the aisle to the Rolling Stones. At the end of the night, a second line band led our guests from the reception space to the after party – the best wedding exit ever!

“I wanted a wedding dress that was simple and timeless - something I could still see myself wearing in 20, 30, 40 years. It was love at first sight with the Harriet Gown, and I knew it was the dress I would be wearing on my wedding day from the moment I tried it on. I loved everything about it - the classic slip style, the bias cut, the cowl back – and felt like a million bucks on my wedding day.”
