Elizabeth + Birdie
Elizabeth and Birdie met in an acting class in college. Elizabeth had a not-so-great first impression when she realized Birdie is an athlete and assumed she "probably won't take the class seriously." However, after their first rehearsal she was immediately smitten. They stayed in touch for 4 years before finally admitting their feelings for each other.
Elizabeth and Birdie tied the knot at Heights House in Raleigh, North Carolina. The boutique hotel was the perfect spot for their intimate dinner party dream. After their ceremony, they had a 6-course meal, dancing, and karaoke into the early hours of the morning.
"A few years earlier my sister tried on the Colette Gown for her own wedding and I was obsessed! She ultimately went with another gown but when my 3 sisters and I went dress shopping for me, she immediately pulled it to try on. Everyone knew it was the one.
My favorite thing about it is that it is so simple yet so flattering. It's the kind of dress that 5, 10, 20 years from now won't feel dated – it will still look timelessly beautiful. I also love the sleeves. Not only do they provide the excuse to have multiple looks, they are a show-stealer! I didn't expect it but my ceremony look with the sleeves turned out to be my favorite look of the night!" – Elizabeth
