Harriet grew up in Toronto, ON and Phillip on a farm in Stoney Plain, AB. They matched on Hinge while living in the northern rural town of Peace River, Alberta during the pandemic. After a few years of dating, they relocated to Calgary with their rescue dog, Finn. Unsuspectingly, Phillip proposed at home in their walk-in closet after Harriet had finished her morning shower. They celebrated their engagement with a surprise cruise planned by Phil a few weeks later.

Harriet and Phillip wanted their wedding to feel authentic, personal, and effortlessly elegant. Having many guests come from out of town, the Azuridge Estate Hotel was perfect. It was the first venue they toured, and they were instantly sold! Azuridge is an estate turned boutique hotel nestled in the beautiful rolling foothills of Alberta, just 20 minutes from Calgary, surrounded by acres of deep forests and mountain views. They rented out the entire estate to hold their ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and have a place for all of their out-of-town guests stay.

"People always say your wedding day happens so fast, but we felt like we had the time to take it all in and be with our loved ones. It was a nice pace and we didn’t feel like we missed anything. We stayed true to us and forwent many traditional elements. For instance, we are not big dancers and instead opted for air hockey, ski ball and foosball in lieu of dancing after our reception dinner."
