Jane + Sammy
Almost a decade has passed since Jane and Sammy's love story first began.
Their engagement took place on the water, by the Chesapeake Bay, their favorite and most cherished spot where they've spent their free time and summers.
In homage to this special place, they incorporated blue herons into their wedding crest. Unbeknownst to them, blue herons could be found at their venue. Come wedding day, just before the gates opened for Jane to walk down the aisle, a heron flew overhead. They will always cherish that moment as a meaningful symbol of guiding love that surrounding them.
They kept their wedding close to home, just down the road from Sammy's childhood home. Growing up, he often watched weddings take place there, never imagining that one day he would get married at that very venue.
Their design was a whimsical take on simplicity, with a palette of neutrals and pops of greenery to complement their lush surroundings. As a graphic designer, Jane payed close attention to all of the details that made the day uniquely theirs. From the dance-floor saxophonist to the bourbon burial, first-touch private vows, and golf cart send-off, every element added to the joy of their celebration.
"Wearing the Sloan Gown, I truly felt like the best version of myself. Staying true to my personal style was a priority, and the sleek, simple silhouette perfectly captured the timeless essence I had been searching for. My husband and I both wanted different looks for the ceremony and reception, so being able to play with accessories - like removing my veil and adding a scarf - was the ideal way to bring this to life.
I chose a bold gold statement earring and sheer gloves that complemented the gown’s effortless elegance, while adding the personal flair I was eager for. The versatility and creativity the gown allowed for was a dream." – Jane
