three graces

Our Three Graces Collection is a tribute to the beauty and quiet stillness of classical sculpture and romantic draping frozen in time. I was inspired by an afternoon spent at The Met with my three young children late last year. As they made their way through the museum, they ran playfully from piece to piece, letting their questions fly and imaginations run wild. I had expected a somewhat stressful day of parenting in the city, but our afternoon ended up feeling dreamlike and surprisingly slow.

The warm golden-hour light filtered through the skylight of the American Wing, casting a cinematic glow as my daughter and twin boys posed like the statues surrounding them, their laughter echoing throughout the space. Their vitality, their motion, the softness of their faces, was juxtaposed against the timelessness and stillness of the marble. This contrast, and the balance of opposing ideas, motion and stillness, flesh and stone, stuck with me, and eventually led to the core theme woven throughout the collection.

A few weeks later, on a solo work trip to Paris, I came across a sculpture of three women, entwined together in a warm embrace. Their energy was light and playful, their expressions embodying friendship. Their bond reminded me of the one my children share. I was excited to enjoy some much needed solo time in a quiet place, but the trio instantly made me miss the boisterous presence of my kids.

This collection celebrates the balance of softness and structure, existing together in harmony. The poetic movement and rich dimensional folds of our draping compliment the internal structure on which each gown is built. Our translucent silk chiffon layers play delightfully with our tailored fabrications, providing an ethereal softness. Layers of lightweight silks create the illusion of volume while still being refined.
