Danica & Adam

Danica and Adam both grew up in Wisconsin’s northwoods. After moving away from their small hometown, their parents remained friends for years and insisted that their children stay in touch. When Adam moved to Seattle for business school they grabbed a coffee, which turned into a slow, sweet burn until they fell deeply and undeniably in love. A couple of years later, they got engaged in February 2021 in Washington’s Methow Valley, doing what they love most - cross-country skiing! Adam literally got down on one ski. Danica cried an abundance of happy tears.

The two love birds held a wedding weekend at their favorite getaway, Captain Whidbey Inn, nestled on the shores of Penn Cove. It’s a place that feels close to home, nostalgic of the lakeside lodges of northern Wisconsin where they both grew up. They invited 60 of their closest family and friends, who arrived Friday night for burgers, muscles, and blue grass music.

Everyone stayed onsite and rocked the Inn’s plaid robes on frequent trips to the sauna and beach. There were campfires, hugs, and strong brandy old fashions. Their wedding day was blessed with not a single cloud in the sky. After a touching ceremony on the lagoon by their dear friend Helen, everyone dined in the historic, wood-clad tavern and danced to a lot of disco music under the twinkle lights.

As a late 30th birthday celebration, Adam and their wedding planner, Finni, surprised Danica with a birthday candle in her wedding cake! Everyone sang and it was a truly unforgettable moment.

“My Mother-in-law sent me a photo of Cleo Gown on The Dress Theory’s Instagram and I immediately loved it. When I saw the silk satin fabric up close, I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. It was an easy and exciting choice. I love the classic neckline and elegant back—so simple and timeless. And while I didn’t plan it, I received quite a few comments on how the luster and subtle shimmer of the gown looked like an oyster pearl. Fitting! Our photographer captured some photos on film that document it beautifully.”
