Katie and Matt crossed paths shortly after graduating. Which happened to be right before Katie moved to Europe to be an Aurpair for a few months. While she was away, they kept in touch via Skype video calls every few weeks. Once she moved back home to Canada, Matt got a secondment opportunity with work to move to London for six months. With a new job in Toronto, Katie was only able to visit him a few times.

Although the long distance was difficult, they enjoyed the opportunity to travel and spend time together. London is still their favorite city and they try to visit every year!

Matt popped the question in August of 2020. With a lot of uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, they made the decision to have a small wedding. With this in mind, they found Wander the Resort, in Prince Edward County. It was the perfect, fun getaway for them and their families.

When planning the details of the wedding, Katie was was inspired by the surroundings of Prince Edward County and how beautiful the summers are there. She envisioned having a harvest table dinner lakeside, with wildflowers, light-colored linens, and tapered candles. Even though it was a bit windy, everything came together beautifully. They are so grateful for all of their incredible vendors who made it possible.

Their ceremony took place between two large trees, right on the water. It was the most beautiful, serene August day. Their night ended with an incredible dinner, sunset, and s’mores.

“I found out that LoversLand in Toronto carries AG, which I was super excited about because it was the one shop where I really wanted to try on wedding dresses. When I had my first appointment, it was the first dress I mentioned and the first dress I tried on. I tried on a few others, but nothing felt like the Viola.
